Dog people, head to WSD for hands-on canine care
What’s this about?
Aimed at ‘practical activism’, WSD or Welfare for Stray Dogs aims to create a harmonious co-existence between humans and street dogs by raising animal healthcare standards and maximising public involvement.
Volunteers can participate in the following ways:
Dog care
Walking dogs at the kennels
Bathing dogs at the kennels
Training dogs at the kennels
Helping with on-site first aid for dogs and cats
Helping with On site mass vaccinations of dogs
Cleaning and hygiene
Cleaning of the ambulance
Cleaning of cupboards and fridge
Cleaning of the garden and walking area
Fund raising
Volunteering at WSD product stalls at colleges, corporate, events etc
Approaching corporate/individuals with fund raising proposals or in kind donations
Education and Awareness
Conducting interactive presentations at schools, colleges, corporate
Helping at WSD children’s workshops
Helping at WSD public awareness stalls
Who’s behind this?
It is a non-profit trust set up in 1985 and recognised by the Animal Welfare Board of India (Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India).
