Description
Handwoven with upcycled plastic and lined with waste flex, Aarohana’s colourful baskets make for great planters or holders for anything from magazines and toys to clothes and tools. In case you do choose to use this as a planter, you could place the pot in it or better even, directly add the soil to the basket. The upcycled plastic makes the baskets water and leak-proof and they also have a hole at the bottom making sure that excess water does not accumulate. Available in glitter and non-glitter options, each basket ensures that at least 20 plastic bags stay out of our seas and landfills!

Ethico says
We love the color pop that these baskets add to a space. Sturdy and structured, they are suited for holding a bunch of everyday things apart from being used as planters. If you are using it as a planter however and directly adding soil to it, make sure that you add moss at the bottom to help soak the excess water.
About the brand
Aarohana EcoSocial Developments is a social enterprise that works towards sustainable development while also creating livelihoods. They upcycle plastic waste to make fabric with the help of a traditional charkha and handloom, which is later used to make bags, home décor and stationary products. Unlike most other upcycling organisations, they also work with multi-layered plastics, which are very difficult to repurpose. They also accept plastic waste (bags and food packaging only, no hard plastic or milk packets) if shipped directly to their office in Pune.
