Save trees with SayTrees
What’s this about?
The good folks at SayTrees describe themselves as a “professionally run group of ordinary people extraordinarily determined to protect the environment”. Started in 2007, the mission of this Bengaluru-based NGO is to sensitize people about the importance of environmental conservation by encouraging them to participate in tree-plantation campaigns. Some of their projects also involve creating urban and rural forests, supporting farmers with fruit trees, rejuvenating lakes & water bodies, and installing solar lamps in villages.
SayTrees has organized tree plantation and water conservation projects across several cities within the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Their long term plan is to conduct more tree plantation drives in more Indian cities.
