Description
An eco-friendly upgrade from traditional plastic sponges, the Almitra Coconut Fiber Pan and Pot Brush is composed entirely of plant-based materials, namely wood and coconut fiber.
Extracted from the husk of coconuts, the coir’s are usually discarded after the coconut juice and flesh has been consumed. Considered a waste, the coir’s can be used to make eco-friendly cleaners, as they are naturally anti-microbial.
With the scrubbing power of an ordinary brush and none of the harmful effects of plastic for our health and our environment, the brush is 100% biodegradable, and sustainable.
What’s In:
Brush – Wood
Bristles – Coconut Fiber
What’s Out:
Petroleum based Plastics
Ethico says
The brush handle is easy to grip and maneuver, and the coconut fibers are efficient in removing leftovers and stains. However, we found it hard to clean the edges of pans and pots. Care instructions include rinsing with soapy water and putting out to dry. For disposal, add to your compost.
About the brand
Almitra Sustainables was co-founded by Anamika Sengupta and her husband Biplap Dutta, on World Environment Day – 5th June 2018. Inspired by the birth of their son, Anamika was eager to lead a more sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle. The first change she made was switching from a plastic toothbrush to replace it with a bamboo brush; so that her family could start the day without plastic in their mouth.
Anamika is hopeful to make Almitra Sustainables products readily available for everyone in the most cost-effective manner possible.
